Services

All facets of modern dentistry — for every age.

Our commitment to integrity and quality extends from routine cleanings to complex restorative cases. We stay current with the latest dental science and combine it with years of tried-and-true experience.

Preventive Services

Routine exams and imaging catch most issues before they become serious. Professional cleanings prevent gingivitis and periodontal disease — which affects roughly half of US adults.

Periodontal Treatment

Beyond a basic cleaning, our highly trained hygiene team offers comprehensive periodontal diagnosis, treatment, and maintenance to preserve bone support.

Dental Implants

Surgically placed titanium posts replace missing tooth roots, supporting crowns, bridges, or dentures that look, feel, and function like your natural teeth.

Crowns

Custom porcelain or gold restorations crafted in a dental lab to fit your tooth precisely. Used to protect, strengthen, or restore a tooth that needs more than a filling.

Porcelain Veneers

Thin, custom porcelain shells bonded to the front of your teeth to improve color, shape, size, or length — a subtle way to refine your smile.

Teeth Contouring

Removing a small amount of enamel to repair chips, smooth bulges or pits, correct misshapen teeth, or adjust length — often used alongside other esthetic procedures.

Teeth Whitening

Custom-made whitening trays paired with professional-strength gel. Treatment time varies from one week to 16 days depending on the solution chosen.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Natural-looking composite fillings that blend with your existing tooth structure — an esthetic alternative to traditional metal restorations.

Invisalign

Clear, removable aligners that straighten teeth gradually — no brackets or wires. Treatment is planned digitally from a comfortable 3D iTero scan, with progress checked at regular visits.

Smile Makeover

A complete, personalized plan for transforming your smile — combining treatments like whitening, veneers, crowns, contouring, and Invisalign. Designed around your goals, your features, and your bite, and sequenced so the results last.

Occlusion & TMJ

How your teeth come together affects far more than your bite. We evaluate occlusion, jaw joints, and muscles as part of every comprehensive exam, and treat grinding, clenching, and jaw discomfort.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

How is your office different from others?
Comfortable, unhurried visits and treatment plans built around your specific situation. Most patients tell us it doesn't feel like the dentistry they're used to.
What does "comprehensive dentistry" mean here?
It means we look at the whole picture, not just the tooth in front of us. Before recommending treatment, Dr. Shao takes the time to understand your overall oral health, your goals, your concerns, and your history. Treatment plans are sequenced thoughtfully and tailored to you.
I'm anxious about going to the dentist. Can you help?
Yes — and you're far from alone. We've designed our office to feel calm and unhurried, and we're happy to take extra time, walk you through every step, or pause whenever you need to. Just let us know on intake that you're nervous and we'll plan your visit around what helps you feel comfortable.
How does Dr. Shao approach treatment planning?
Dr. Shao explains options clearly so you can make an informed decision. If a problem can be watched rather than treated, we'll tell you. If multiple approaches make sense, we'll walk you through the trade-offs.
How does gum disease affect my overall health?
Inflammation from gum disease causes the liver to produce C-Reactive Protein, which is a strong indicator of future heart attack and stroke risk. Research has also linked oral bacteria to preterm low-birth-weight babies in pregnant women, and to infections that can spread to the heart and brain. The connection between periodontal disease and overall health continues to be confirmed by research and medicine — it's important to take it seriously.
Does Dr. Shao do cosmetic dentistry?
Yes. Dr. Shao is qualified to consider the entire chewing system to ensure cosmetic treatment will be long-lasting. Available cosmetic procedures include tooth-colored fillings, porcelain veneers, whitening or bleaching, all-porcelain crowns, onlays and inlays, and cosmetic reshaping of teeth.
What other types of dental restorations does Dr. Shao provide?
We offer crowns in porcelain or gold — custom-crafted in a dental lab to fit your tooth precisely. Crowns are used when a tooth needs more support than a filling can provide. Missing teeth can be replaced with bridges, removable partial dentures, full dentures, or implants — and Dr. Shao will walk you through the options so you can choose what fits best.
Do you treat jaw pain, clenching, or TMJ problems?
Yes. Evaluating how your teeth, jaw joints, and muscles work together is part of how Dr. Shao approaches every comprehensive exam. If grinding, clenching, headaches, or jaw discomfort are part of your picture, we'll look at the underlying bite relationship — not just the symptoms — and walk you through treatment options.
What is a dental implant?
Dental implants replace missing tooth roots and form a stable foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like your natural teeth. They also preserve remaining bone by providing the stimulation previously provided by natural roots. Implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost teeth due to periodontal disease, injury, or other reasons. Unlike traditional bridgework, implants don't rely on neighboring teeth for support — there's no need to grind down adjacent teeth. Modern techniques make nearly everyone missing teeth a candidate.
